Check: Conduct Business Excellence (5-STEPS) self-assessment

Conduct a well-founded, AI-supported success assessment according to the principles of business excellence (5-STEPS)
Christian Forstner · December 5, 2024

The Success Path offers you the simplest and quickest method for evaluating your organization according to excellence principles.

You can quickly create a sound basis for an excellence assessment.
With minimal effort and AI support, you can recognize strengths and potential for improvement, immediately have meaningful reports from different perspectives and can react in a targeted manner before the assessment to not only pass stress-free, but also perform excellently.

The path is ideal for organizations seeking a quality management assessment.
The path covers all essential aspects of business excellence in an easily digestible way.

Thanks to our universal Success-Thread (5-STEPS-to-Excellence), the reports are compatible with all common frameworks, in particular EFE (Excellence Framework Europe), EFQM (European Foundation of Quality Management), ISO 9001 (quality management) or the Ubuntu Excellence Framework.

Why is it worth the journey?

  1. Reliable orientation: All business excellence topics are covered.
You immediately receive well-founded, comprehensible reports and can take targeted action.

The engagement with good practices strengthens one’s own know-how.
  3. Individual recognition: everyone in the team is heard and is involved from the outset.
As everyone contributes their views and knowledge, an authentic overall view is created.

Success Paths require a closed travel group

Success Paths should be taken with at least 5 participants.
The more participants, the better.
It’s the mix that makes the difference.

The team does not just include management.
It also explicitly includes employees, interns and trustworthy external parties who know the customers, have a deep insight into processes and know what challenges are lurking in day-to-day business.
Your mix should also have a healthy dose of critics.
It is generally possible to form sub-groups.

  • Time required: 2 – 4 hours, highly dependent on participants and approach
  • Travel time: Easily doable in 1 week, preferably within 4 weeks
  • Feasible in idle times, Taking a break is possible and desired at any time

Not included are your expenses for internal workshops, coordination etc.

  • The success assessment is individually adapted to the organization.
The team’s “Tour Guide” carries out a “customization” of the Success Paths once at the beginning.
Depending on the Tour Guide’s experience, this may take between 2 hours and a day.
  • The time spent on customization is an excellent investment.
You reflect on your identity, your strategic challenges, the interest groups and processes relevant to your success.
In short: instead of documenting the status quo, you reflect above all on where you want to go in the future and what that means.
  • The effort required for a traditional “application letter” for an assessment, which often takes months, is no longer necessary.
Instead, the assessor team receives reports from the individual performance evaluation as well as selected existing documents from the organization.
The aim is not to create extra documents, but to improve existing ones.
  • The success evaluation should always be completely honest.
Only the strengths identified for the assessment can be communicated to the assessment organization.
In this way, any potential for improvement identified can be compared with those of the assessment team without being influenced.
  • The team record for a well-founded success assessment is 2.5 hours.
We recommend a maximum period of 2 weeks.
Otherwise the team will lose focus.
The Success Path can be used for 3 months after activation.
  • A team should have a maximum size of 15 people.
It is possible to form several teams.
Each team has its own protected environment and works out a separate assessment.
  • The performance evaluation can be done alone and in off-peak times.
However, it can also be carried out in a workshop format.
The team can proceed in the way that suits them best.
  • All questionnaires are optional.
The idea is that people only contribute to topics to which they are willing and able.
In total, all topics should be dealt with by the team.
A common variant is that one very knowledgeable person (e.g. the Tour Guide) deals with all topics.
Everyone else in the team deals with the key areas of their role and daily work.
  • The team does not need any prior knowledge of business excellence.
Questionnaires are very easy to understand and are written in plain language.
  • The reports are immediately and transparently available to everyone in the team.
Texts and messages are easy to understand with common sense.
Reports can be downloaded as PDF files.
  • All data on perceptions and multiple-choice fields are anonymous in the report.
All free texts show the author in order to promote mutual exchange.
  • The basic costs cover a team size of 10 people.
This also includes the costs for the AI (fair use principle).
Additional team places and teams can be purchased.
  • The Erfolgsucher is completely independent of the Excellence organizations.
