Case study Circular Economy: FREITAG – Sustainable bags and accessories made from recycled materials

FREITAG, a company from Zurich, has accepted this challenge. In 1993, graphic designers Markus and Daniel Freitag were looking for a functional, water-repellent bag and came up with the idea of using recycled truck tarpaulins. Today, FREITAG produces a variety of bags and accessories from recycled materials, including PET fabrics, truck tarpaulins and other upcycled materials. The company has also introduced innovative concepts such as “S.W.A.P.” (Shopping Without Any Payment), a Tinder-like bag exchange for customers.
