He is constantly getting bogged down so that he doesn’t implement his plans. Of course, you have already criticized this constructively. Unfortunately without success. Of course, you could increase the pressure now – but you doubt that more pressure will help. Here is an alternative:

Ask for a self-assessment. This takes you out of the role of evaluator and encourages self-reflection on the part of the other person. Perhaps you can at least praise the self-reflection. This will certainly produce resources that you can strengthen.

For example, ask: How well did you manage to set your priorities correctly this week? Draw a progression from Monday to Friday.

Take an interest in the resources. Question:

Which day was the best?

When was the day with the best improvement on the previous day?

What was the earliest day on which you were able to change your priorities for the better?

How were you able to keep yourself in good shape for two days?

What would it have taken to lift the low on Wednesday?

Resource-oriented questions have the same effect as praise: encouraging, constructive, strengthening. Good luck with it!
