How do you deal well with difficult expectations and conflicts?

It is in the nature of things that many different expectations are placed on you, which cannot all be fulfilled at the same time. What expectations you want to fulfill, when, how and to what extent is the subject of your planning or strategy.

If expectations are not met, it may also be due to expectations.

Before planning, it is important that you address and discuss unfulfillable, unrealistic or unreasonable expectations. For example, you can go to and enter into direct dialog with interest groups.

Otherwise, you run the risk of creating expectations that you will probably be disappointed . Your relationship with the interest group may even suffer as a result. In this case, it would even be better not to ask about expectations in the first place. If you ask for expectations, you should always give feedback , even if you cannot fulfill the expectations .

Before you develop a strategy or plan, you should formulate a balanced set of relevant and potentially achievable expectations from your stakeholders.

In the implementation phase, you should actively manage expectations with your stakeholders. This also requires suitable instruments.
