The challenges of delegation

Challenges

Of course, there are also disadvantages and challenges when delegating. Here are the most important ones:

Effort: Anyone who decides to delegate tasks quickly realizes that more effort is required, at least in the short term. You have to take a more planned approach, know better what you want, communicate more, provide more support, etc. First of all, delegation is an investment.

Patience: Patience is required until the investment pays off. It is quite possible that it will take longer to complete the task than if you had done it yourself.

Tolerance: Of course, once we have delegated, we can no longer influence how the task is carried out and the result. We should always be prepared for everything to turn out a little differently than we think.

Being able to trust: Delegating means letting go. Anyone who delegates, especially when it’s an important matter, quickly feels a tingling sensation in their fingers. Then you need the discipline to take a step back instead of giving the delegatee a hard time.
