UNSDG Goal 10: Reduce inequalities
In our private lives, we strive to live with openness and diversity. For example, by welcoming different cultures into our circle of friends and actively opposing discrimination. Regardless of social or cultural background, we value general equality of opportunity.
The 10th goal of the United Nations,“Reduce inequalities“, aims to reduce inequality within a country and inequality between countries. The goal thus aims to promote the social, economic and political integration of all people. Regardless of: Age, gender, disability, race, origin, religion and economic or other status. The goal is intended to help create a world in which income inequality is reduced and everyone has the same opportunities.
Organizations can contribute to this goal in a variety of ways. Here are three examples:
- Technology companies: Tech companies can create programs that improve access to technology and education for underserved communities to help close the digital divide.
- Financial institutions: Banks could provide favorable financing models for micro-entrepreneurs and start-ups so that socially disadvantaged groups also have opportunities to succeed.
- Educational institutions: Universities can provide scholarships and free access to educational resources for disadvantaged groups. In this way, they can expand educational opportunities and promote professional qualifications.
