The ethics of digitalization

Digitalization is certainly one of the most exciting developments of our time. But while technology has enabled incredible advances in areas such as communication, automation and data analysis, there is also a dark side.

Digitalization has raised a multitude of moral questions that challenge our society. Questions about privacy, surveillance, manipulation and the social impact of technology on society keep us on our toes and require us to be constantly aware of how we deal with the new possibilities.

How we use digitalization is of crucial importance for the future of our society. It is desirable that we use these technologies in accordance with our ethical and moral principles and that they benefit us in the long term.

Unfortunately, it is utopian to believe that appeals to reason alone will suffice. Every day we see digitalization being used for questionable and criminal purposes.
