April 2024 – Canton of Bern gives the green light for the development of the SME Sustainable World Roadmap (WIBS)

In the future, SMEs will also be increasingly required to meet stricter legal sustainability requirements and meet the demands of large companies in the supply chain. Sustainability is therefore increasingly turning from a “nice-to-have” into a matter of survival for SMEs too.

Despite the growing awareness of environmental and social responsibility, there is a clear gap in the range of practicable, efficient and tailored sustainability solutions for SMEs. The project “SME-Sustainable World-Roadmap (WIBS)” aims to enable SMEs and other small organizations to drive the development and implementation of sustainability strategies independently, efficiently and effectively.

We are delighted that the Canton of Bern is financially supporting the project as part of the New Regional Policy (NRP) . Specifically, at least five digital success paths will be designed and established in 2024 and 2025 to address the challenges of “efficiency and cost reduction”, “comprehensive sustainability” and “establishing the circular economy” on the basis of the success path technology. When designing the success paths, we rely on renowned experts and practitioners and work closely with WIBS and regional partners in the canton of Bern.
